According to sources, Mercedes-Benz plans to introduce the new AMG CLE 53 in India by the end of 2025. Mercedes sells the CLE 53 AMG convertible in foreign regions as well, though it is unknown which model is going to India. Let’s look at the powertrain and the features it will offer.
Powertrain:
The E 53 sedan’s 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged straight-six engine, known as the “M256,” is employed in the performance-oriented CLE in conjunction with a 48V mild hybrid system. The combined output is 449 horsepower and 560 Nm, while the Overboost option adds an extra 40 Nm of torque.
Through a nine-speed transmission, this power is distributed to all four wheels. The AMG CLE 53 can reach a high speed of 250 kph and accelerate from 0 to 100 kph in 4.2 seconds. With the AMG Performance Package, the top speed can reach 270 kph. Because of the extra weight, the AMG CLE 53 Cabriolet takes 0.2 seconds longer to reach 100 kph. The BMW M2’s sprint times, for example, are 4.2 seconds for the manual and 4 seconds for the automatic.
AMG CLE 53 Design:
Along with LED headlamps and slimmer Daytime Running Lamps, the AMG also features a Panamericana radiator grille. To improve airflow, a sizable air inlet is located beneath the grille. The posture is enhanced with a tall bonnet, sloped windscreen and smaller air intakes on either side.
The track is 58 mm wider at the front and 75 mm wider at the back than the typical CLE’s due to flared wheel arches along the sides. Both 19 and 20-inch alloy wheels will be available; the latter is an optional upgrade. Although they are joined, the two-part LED tail lights lack a light bar. The rear diffuser incorporates four exhausts, two on each side.
AMG CLE 53 Features:
Touch control buttons are located on the flat-bottom steering wheel of the AMG Performance. The third-generation MBUX-powered 11.9-inch portrait-oriented touchscreen is accompanied by a 12.3-inch driver’s display. Additionally, it has a wireless charger, Burmester sound system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, 64-color ambient lighting, and over-the-air (OTA) software upgrades.
Additionally, the CLE 53 AMG has rear-wheel steering that, at speeds exceeding 100 kph, turns in the direction of the front wheels up to a maximum of 0.7 degrees.
