Mercedes-AMG reveals S63 E Performance luxury sedan

Mercedes-Benz has announced the most powerful version of its flagship sedan – the AMG S63 E Performance. The car is based on the LWB S-Class and gets a ton of upgrades, including AMG-specific ones like technology, features and upgrades.

Design of the Mercedes-Benz AMG S63 E Performance

In terms of the design, the car gets an unique AMG grille in the front. It also gets a ‘jet-wing’ front bumper, bigger air intakes and trapezoidal exhaust pipe tips and 20-inch forged alloy wheels. Customers can also opt for the optional 21-inch rims. The car also get red-accented ‘S63’ badge at the back.

On the inside, the car gets bespoke AMG upholstery and stitching on all the four seats. The front headrests get an AMG logo while the instrument cluster and the MBUX infotainment screens get AMG-specific graphics. The steering wheel gets unique control switches amongst other upgrades compared to the standard S-Class. In terms of electronics, the car gest four regeneration modes, seven driving modes and a host of safety features and driver aids.

Powertrain of the Mercedes-AMG S63 E Performance

The heart of this car comes equipped with a 4.0-litre V8 engine. The engine is paired with an electric motor and battery as well. This hybrid powertrain has a claimed peak power of 791 BHP and a whooping 1430 Nm of maximum torque. All this power and torque is sent to all the four wheels via the car maker’s 4MATIC system. This engine can propel the car from a standstill to 100 km/h in just 3.5 seconds. This figure is even more impressive when we come to know that the kerb weight of the car is 2,520 kg. While the top speed of the car is electronically limited to 250 km/h, it can be increased to 290 km/h via the optional AMG Driver’s Package.

The car has an all-electric range of 33 km.

Pricing and availability of the Mercedes-AMG S63 E Performance

Mercedes has not yet announced the pricing as well as the availability of this new high performance sedan. Expect both to be announced shortly.
