McLaren launches 750S supercar in India at INR 5.91 Crore

McLaren has launched the new 750S supercar in the Indian market with a price tag of INR 5.91 Crore ex-showroom. The McLaren 750S supercar features the best-in-segment power-to-weight ratio setting new benchmarks in performance such as the 0-200 kmph acceleration.

McLaren claims that the 750S is the lightest and most powerful series-production McLaren till date. In India, the brand will be retailing the 750S in both the Coupe and Spider (convertible) form. The McLaren 750S Coupe and Spider are both available to order from McLaren Mumbai.

McLaren 750S – Engine and Performance

Let get to the best parts first. Powering the McLaren 750S is a 4.0-litre, twin-turbocharged V8 engine. The engine produces 750 PS of power and 800 Nm of torque. The engine comes paired to a 7-speed transmission with revised gearing and a revised kickdown control. McLaren claims that the 750S is capable of sprinting from 0-100kmph in 2.8 seconds and 0-200kmph in 7.2 seconds (Spider 7.3 seconds). The brand further claims that over both the distances, the 750S is quicker than its closest competitor. The engine has a power-to-weight ratio of 587 PS-per-tonne which also claims to be 22 PS more than competition.

McLaren 750S – Chassis, Suspension and Steering

The McLaren 750S features a carbon fibre monocoque along with lightweight wheels and carbon fibre-shelled racing seats. The Supercar also comes with a lengthened active rear wing. The wing is 20% larger than the wing of the 720S yet 1.6 kgs lighter. Compared to the 720S the 750S is 30kg lighter with a dry weight of 1,277 kgs. McLaren also claims that the 750S is 193 kgs lighter than its closest competitor.

The McLaren 750S uses a 6mm wider front track and new suspension geometry. The car features Proactive Chassis Control
linked-hydraulic suspension. The new generation PCC III system not only offers comfort in the urban environment but also offers overall circuit performance. The 750S also features a electro-hydraulic steering with a new power-assistance pump for a faster steering ratio offering precise feedback.

McLaren 750S – Features

The McLaren 750S also debuts the McLaren Control Launcher (MCL) technology. Using MCL drivers can store their preferred combination of powertrain, transmission, aero and handling settings. Using the McLaren ‘Speedy Kiwi’ button the stored settings can be instantly recalled. McLaren is also using new and improved interiors. The instruments cluster is now mounted on a binnacle with the steering column and has lost a whopping 1.8 kgs of weight. The driver also has a quick access to the Comfort, Sport and Track Active settings. The Central Information Screen also comes with new and richer graphics as well as Apple CarPlay.
