Maxxis launches tyre manufacturing plant in Gujarat

Maxxis Rubber India, a sub-company of Maxxis Group has set up a tyre manufacturing unit in Sanand, Gujarat. The largest two-wheeler tyre manufacturer in the world inaugurated their first production facility today in our country.

Maxxis has invested upwards of $400 million for this production unit. The plant is spread across 106 acres of land and will be used to manufacture two-wheeler tyres and tubes. The plant will have a capacity to produce around 20,000 tyres & 40,000 tubes per day. Maxxis is targeting to achieve a market share of 15% within 5 years of operations in the Indian market.

Maxxis wants to become one of the top 5 tyre brands in the world by 2026 and the volumes generated from the Indian market will be crucial. Maxxis will also be exporting their produce from India to other South Asian markets and also expand eventually to Africa & Middle East.

As of now, Maxxis is the OEM tyre supplier for Honda two-wheelers, Maruti Suzuki, Mahindra, Tata & Jeep.

Production from the first phase of this facility began in August 2017. A testament to the brands quality, Maxxis tyres are the trusted choice by Honda for the Activa scooter since 2015.

The new plant employs over 600 people and the manpower is expected to be extended to 2,000 human resources in the next 5 years.

Maxxis has a global product portfolio to cater to passenger cars, two-wheelers, LCVs, trucks, buses, ATVs & agricultural vehicles.
