Ahmedabad-based technology start-up Matter has showcased the Concept-EXE and Concept-UT at the Auto Expo 2023. The company has also showcased a dual-purpose battery solution as well as next-generation battery swapping ecosystem.

Bigger battery variant of the Matter bike

The Matter e-bike comes with a sporty design but the presence of a street bike. It has all-around LED lights, clip-on handlebars, split seats, and a rear grab handle. Last year, the company unveiled this bike with a 5 kWh liquid-cooled battery pack. It had a claimed range of 125-150 km on a single charge and was powered by a 10.5 kW electric motor that has a peak torque of 520 Nm. Power was sent to the rear wheels via a 4-speed gearbox.

Now, a 6 kWh version of the same was showcased at the Auto Expo. It has fast charging and the battery can be topped up in under 2 hours. Price and pre-orders of this bike are expected soon.

Matter Concept EXE

Designed for the progressive and the aspirational youth, the bike reflects the same in its design. The bike will feature a battery swapping technology along with a manual gearbox. Thanks to the manual gearbox, the rider will have a comfortable transition from ICE based two wheelers to this eclectic motorcycle. It will also have a low cost of running and maintenance.

Matter Concept UT

Designed primarily for commercial applications, the Matter Concept UT will cater to the utility on the go segment like app-based delivery and other last mile applications. This too will come with battery swapping technology allowing a quick put stop to change the battery rather than wait for it to fully charge.

HomeDock Inverter

The smart home dock is a dual-purpose battery solution. It can be used both to charge vehicle batteries or can be used as a domestic power source. It will be built on the battery swapping technology to power both a two wheeler and home inverter. It will boast smart connectivity features via  smart home ecosystem and mobile connectivity. The company has tied up with Luminous power to create and distribute such products.

Swap.Me

Swap.Me is a concept battery swapping ecosystem. It will be built on state-of-the-art technology and service models with features like, swap system, data integration, thermal management, predictive AI, and a smart user interface. Swap.Me stations will be a fast plug-and-play docks that will enable battery swapping in under a minute. It will primarily be used for two and three-wheeler batteries.
