Maserati Ghibli & Levante get new FTributo Special Edition

Written by Kanad Kalasur

Maserati has announced two new FTributo Special Edition models. Both the Ghibli and the Levante will pay homage to race driver Maria Teresa De Filippis, the first woman to qualify for a Formula 1 Grand Prix. De Filippis achieved this in a Maserati 250F. While these are limited edition models, it is not yet specified by the company how many units would be produced.

De Filippis in racing

De Filippis, nicknamed “The She-Devil,” used to participate in the 2.0-litre class in the 39th Targa Florio in October 1955. She was placed ninth overall and fourth in her class. She drove a Maserati A6GCS alongside co-driver Luigi Bellucci. She then raced in F1 in 1958, again in a Maserati.

Changes in the FTributo Editions

The Limited edition cars will have a choice of 2 exterior shades – Arancio Devil orange or Grigio Lamiera grey. The orange exterior will get cobalt blue trim bits, while the grey car will get orange highlights. The alloy wheel rim, the FTributo fender badge and the C-pillar trident get these contrast colourings.

The Levante FTributo will get 21-inch Anteo wheels, while the Ghibli comes shod with 21-inch Titano rims. The orange cars receive wheels finished in the Grigio Opaco colour, and the grey models get glossy black rims.

Both cars will get cobalt blue finishes with contrast orange stitching on the inside. Maserati completes the cabin with cobalt blue finishes and orange stitching. Owners can opt for an interior colour combination with either black or orange and full-grain (PienoFiore) leather.

Engine and Power-specs

These upgrades are purely cosmetic, and there are no changes to the mechanical bits of the cars. The Ghibli is offered with either a 572 HP V8 in the Trofeo or a twin-turbocharged V6 that produces 345 HP or 424 HP in the lesser trims. The Maserati Levante comes equipped with a V8, making either 523 HP or 572 HP and a 424 HP V6.
