The upcoming compact-SUV from the Maruti Suzuki stable has been spotted testing for the first time. The car was wearing heavy camouflage decals to hide exterior details. This baby SUV is based on the XA Aplha concept revealed at the 2012 Indian Auto Expo and has taken rather long to materialise. Maruti could either launch it during the 2015 festive season, or push the launch even further to the 2016 Indian Auto Expo.

Features:

  • Sub-4 metre in length
  • Blackened A, B and C pillars
  • Suzuki grille in chrome
  • Wide air dam
  • Flat front end design
  • Smoked out headlamps
  • Front fog lamps
  • ORVMs with turn indicators
  • Roof mounted antenna
  • 5 bi-spoke alloy wheels
  • Pull-type door handles
  • All-black interiors
  • Black fabric seats
  • Small roof mounted spoiler
  • Black plastic cladding around the car

Maruti has codenamed this EcoSport rival as the YBA and from the spyshots, we can assume that it will look decent to fight against the competition.

Powering the YBA will be the same 1.3L diesel and 1.4L petrol motors, probably in the same tune as on the Ciaz. Expect Maruti to load the car with all the features as per the segment standard, not to forget the best-in-class fuel efficiency claim.
