Maruti Suzuki has updated its May month sales figure. For the month of May 2023, India’s largest carmaker sold a total sales of 178,083 vehicles. This figure breaks down as domestic sales at 146,596 units. On the other hand, the sales to other OEMs stood at 5,010 vehicles. Talking of the export figures, the figure stood at 26,477 units for May 2023.
Semiconductor Shortage Still A Concern For Maruti Suzuki
Maruti Suzuki continues to reflect upon some issues with manufacturing. This was caused due to a shortage in the supply of semiconductor chips. But the carmaker has taken steps to curtail the impact.
Maruti Suzuki’s Detailed Sales Detailed Breakup For May 2023
Maruti Suzuki’s Mini segment retails S-Presso and Alto. The carmaker retailed a total of 12,236 units. Meanwhile, the Compact segment garners the most sales. The carmaker sold a total of 71,419 units. This segment includes Maruti Suzuki’s top sellers like Swift, Baleno, Ignis, Celerio, Dzire, Tour S, and WagonR.
Maruti Suzuki’s mid-size segment currently only retails the Ciaz. The sales figure for the sedan stood at 992 units. In the Utility vehicles segment, the carmaker sells Brezza, Ertiga, Fronx, Grand Vitara, S-Cross, and XL6. Maruti Suzuki sold a total of 46,243 units. Eeco falls under the Van segment, which sold a total of 12,818 vehicles. Adding it all Maruti Suzuki retailed a total of 143,708 units. This figure makes up for its entire passenger vehicle lineup for the Indian market.
