Maruti Suzuki sold 1,65,173 cars in August 2022

Maruti Suzuki has released its August 2022 sales report. India’s largest car maker sold 165,173 units for the mentioned period. This figure includes monthly domestic sales of 137,537 and also includes 6,155 units sales to other OEMs. The export figure for the given period stood at 21,481 units. Maruti Suzuki also mentioned their issues concerned with the sporadic supply of electronic components. However, the good news is that it had a minor impact on the production of the vehicles. But, the company also mentioned that the situation is now getting much better. Maruti Suzuki is taking all possible measures to minimize the impact.

Detailed Sales Breakup

For the Mini segment, which consists of Alto and S-Presso, Maruti Suzuki sold a total of 22,162 units. For the Compact segment, which accounts for maximum sales, Maruti Suzuki sold a total of 71,557 units. This segment includes best-sellers like Baleno, Celerio, Dzire, Ignis, Swift, Tour S, and WagonR. In the mid-size segment currently, only the Ciaz sold a total of 1,516 units. Accounting for all the figures, Maruti Suzuki posted a total sales of 95,235 units for the passenger vehicle segment.

In the Utility vehicles segment, which consists of Brezza, Ertiga, S-Cross, and XL6, Maruti Suzuki sold a total of 23,272 units. Eeco makes up for the Van segment, which sold a total of 26,932 units. The launch of the new Brezza has added significant sales to this segment. Thus for the entire Domestic Passenger vehicle segment, Maruti Suzuki sold a total of 134,166 units. Meanwhile, the Super Carry, which sells under the Light Commercial Vehicle segment, sold a total of 3,371 units.

This takes the total Domestic Sales, making up of both Passenger vehicles and Light Commercial Vehicles, to 137,537 units. With the launch of the all-new Brezza and the Vitara, we expect the SUV segment to further add more sales in the coming months.
