Maruti Suzuki, the country’s largest car manufacturer in terms of sales volume, releases sales figures for June 2021. The company registered a total sales of 1,47,368 units for the given period. This includes total domestic sales of 1,26,196 units, exports of 17,020 units, and sales to other OEM 4,152 units. Maruti Suzuki completed the first quarter of FY 21-22 with a total sales of 3,53,614 units. The company acknowledged the fact that the sales in the first quarter of both FY20-21 and FY21-22 have been below the expectations. The main reason for this being the numerous lockdowns and also the restrictions laid down across the country. The customer sentiments were also relatively low in this period, which was evident from the sales figure.
