Maruti Suzuki recalls Jimny in India? Click to know which part is faulty

Maruti Suzuki has issued a recall for the Jimny SUV in India. The recall affects all variants of the Jimny due to a faulty part that has been causing safety concerns among owners.

The Faulty Part

The recall is focused on the King Pin assembly in the front axle. Several customers have reported vibrations in the steering wheel while braking at speeds between 60 km/h and 80 km/h. This issue, often referred to as the “Jimny death wobble,” disappears once the vehicle slows down below 60 km/h.

Many owners have taken to online forums to share their experiences with the issue. The vibrations can be unsettling and raise concerns about the vehicle’s overall safety. Maruti Suzuki has acknowledged these complaints and is taking steps to address them.

Maruti’s Response

Maruti Suzuki is replacing the faulty King Pin assembly and the front brake discs free of charge. The company is reaching out to affected customers to schedule the replacements. Owners are also encouraged to contact their nearest Maruti service center if they haven’t been contacted yet.

The recall is expected to affect thousands of Jimny owners across India. Maruti Suzuki is committed to ensuring the safety of its customers and is working diligently to fix the issue as quickly as possible.

Jimny in India

The Maruti Suzuki Jimny in India comes with a 1462 cc K15B petrol engine, producing 103 horsepower and 134.2 Nm of torque. It offers both manual and automatic transmission options and boasts a ground clearance of 210 mm. The Jimny is designed for off-road adventures with features like All-grip 4×4 drive, hill hold assist, and hill descent control. It also comes with 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and 6 airbags for enhanced safety Since its launch in June 2023, Maruti Suzuki has sold 16,369 units of the Jimny.
