Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) has launched a new initiative called ‘ROCK N’ ROAD SUV Experiences’ to cater to the growing demand for adventure and off-roading among SUV owners. The initiative comprises of two formats: experiential drives and off-road championships, which aim to provide thrilling and memorable experiences to the participants.
ROCK N’ ROAD SUV Experiences
The experiential drives, called ‘ROCK N’ ROAD Expeditions’ and ‘ROCK N’ ROAD Weekenders’, are curated in multiple short and long expeditions across various terrains and destinations in India. The participants can book and join these drives with their own Maruti Suzuki SUVs or rent them from the company. The drives are designed to challenge the drivers’ skills and test the capabilities of their vehicles, while also exploring the scenic and cultural aspects of the regions.
The off-road championships, called ‘ROCK N’ ROAD 4X4 Masters’, are a first-of-its-kind event in the country that aims to recognize and reward the best off-roading talent. The event is led by Jimny, the iconic 4×4 SUV from Maruti Suzuki, which is known for its performance and durability. The event will be conducted in two phases: qualifiers, which will be organized across eight cities, and a grand finale, which will be held at a specially designed off-road track. The participants will compete in various categories and challenges, such as speed, agility, obstacle clearance, and vehicle recovery.
The inaugural ‘ROCK N’ ROAD SUV Experiences’ drive: ‘ROCK N’ ROAD Expeditions’ was flagged off from Chandigarh by Mr. Shashank Srivastava on January 23, 2024. It features a convoy of 14 Maruti Suzuki Jimny SUVs winding their way through scenic mountains up to Kaza, passing through Tabo and covering 539 km in six days. This expedition will traverse through Spiti Valley, delving into the hidden corners of the Himalayan wilderness, and discovering uncharted landscapes with emerald rivers, azure skies, and a pristine white snow cover.
