Maruti Suzuki Jimny continues to be on discount

Written by Nizam Shaikh

Maruti Suzuki is offering the Jimny 5-door SUV at heavy discounts. The brand has been struggling with the sales figures of the Jimny in India and to boost its sales the brand is offering benefits of upto INR 1.5 lakh on the Maruti Jimny. The hefty discount is on the MY 2023 Maruti Suzuki Jimny in India. But, the MY 2024 Maruti Suzuki Jimny is now also affordable by INR 53,000/-. Sources report that this includes a cash discount of INR 50,000 and an INR 3,000/- corporate discount. The Maruti Suzuki Jimny is available with a starting price tag of INR 12.74 lakh ex-showroom.

Maruti Suzuki Jimny – Technical Specifications

Powering the Maruti Suzuki Jimny is a 1.5-litre petrol engine. The naturally-aspirated petrol engine produces 103 Hp of power and 132 Nm of torque. The brand offers the Jimny SUV with a 5-speed manual transmission. Maruti also offers the Jimny with a 4-speed automatic gearbox.

The off-road capable SUV also comes with All-Grip Pro all-wheel drive system. In terms of size, the 5-door lifestyle SUV measures 3,985mm in length, 1,645mm in width and 1,720mm in height. The Jimny comes with a wheelbase of 2,590 mm. Despite its longer wheelbase the SUV also gets excellent approach, break-over and departure angles to tackle rough terrain with ease. The Maruti Suzuki Jimny also comes with a generously high 210mm of ground clearance.

Maruti Suzuki Jimny – Competition

In the recent past, Maruti Suzuki was also offering the Jimny with a whopping INR 2 lakh discount. However, its prime competitor – the Mahindra Thar, still siphoned all the sales. Maruti Suzuki also introduced a new special edition Jimny Thunder Edition but was not able to recover the diminishing sales. In lifetime average comparison, Mahindra Thar sales are nearly three times that of the Jimny. In January, Mahindra sold more than 6,000 units of the Thar, while Maruti Suzuki sold 163 units of the Jimny.
