Maruti Suzuki expands manufacturing capacity at Manesar plant by additional 100,000 units

Maruti Suzuki has announced that the company has commissioned a new assembly line at its Manesar production plant. Furthermore, the new assembly line has been added to the existing Plant-A of the 3 manufacturing plants at Manesar. The new assembly line has the capability of manufacturing 100,000 units per annum.

Maruti Suzuki Production Capacity

With the new assembly line installed, the Manesar production facility now has an annual capacity of 900,000 units. Maruti Suzuki also revealed that the Manesar plant has contributed to about 95 lakh units of cars out of the cumulative 3 Crore units production milestone. Also, the brand reveals that the new plant has enhanced ergonomics, to improve productivity and enhance traceability.

At the Manesar plant Maruti Suzuki produces the Brezza, Ertiga, XL6, Wagon R, Dzire, S-Presso, Ciaz and Celerio cars. Furthermore, the brand also revealed that the first vehicle to roll-out of the new assembly line at Manesar is the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga. Maruti Suzuki inaugurated the Manesar facility in February 2007. The company began operations with the Plant A. With the rise in customer demand Maruti Suzuki added Plant-B in 2011 and Plant-C in 2013.

Maruti Suzuki Future Manufacturing Plans

Maruti Suzuki is also aligned with the Government of India’s Make in India vision and aims to double the capacity to 4 million vehicles per annum over the next 7-8 years. The company aims to manufacture up to 23.5 lakh units per annum in the Indian market to help serve its customers faster.

Recently, Maruti Suzuki revealed that the company achieved a significant milestone of producing over 3 crore vehicles in India. Maruti Suzuki achieved this milestone in 40 years and 4 months since it commenced production in India. Maruti Suzuki started producing its vehicles in India from December 1983 and India is considered as the fastest among all Suzuki production bases.
