Maruti Suzuki Ertiga & XL6 could get more features with increase in price

Maruti Suzuki is planning to upgrade the Ertiga and XL6 7/6-seater MPV in the Indian market. The move is to keep up with the rising competition in the 6/7-seater MPV segment. While the second-generation Ertiga MPV was launched back in 2018, it about time the brand gave the car a mid-life update. The XL6 which is the premium version of the Ertiga with captain seats will also get a few upgrades. Both the XL6 and Ertiga are likely to get upgrades only in the cosmetic department. There will be no changes in terms of the engine and the mechanical components, say reports.

Maruti Suzuki XL6 & Ertiga Changes for 2021

According to reports, the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and XL6 will features additional airbags for safety, a wireless smartphone charging cradle and larger wheels & tyres. The brand is also likely to add a more premium trim option to the dashboard and doors, mild changes to the exteriors such as a different grille and chrome appliques to the bumpers. But we cannot confirm anything at this time. One more change that is on the interiors is a Connected-Infotainment System.

Maruti Suzuki Ertiga & XL6 Engine Specification

The Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and XL6 share the K15B series naturally-aspirated petrol engine. This engine is a four-cylinder unit with smart hybrid technology. The mild-hybrid engine produces 105 PS of power and 138 Nm of torque. The engine comes with a 5-speed manual transmission or a 4-speed torque converter automatic transmission.

Prices

The Maruti Suzuki Ertiga comes with a price tag of INR 7.69 lakh to INR 10.47 lakh ex-showroom. The Maruti Suzuki XL6 comes with a price tag of  INR 9.81 lakh ex-showroom to INR 11.61 lakh ex-showroom. The XL6 is sold through the brand’s premium NEXA dealerships and NEXA website online. The brand retails the Ertiga through the Arena sales channels. The Ertiga and XL6 compete with the Hyundai Alcazar 7-seater SUV.
