Maruti Suzuki Ertiga ‘Tour M’ launched for taxi operators

Maruti Suzuki has introduced the Ertiga ‘Tour M’, a new variant of the Ertiga MPV targeted towards the commercial fleet and cab operators. The Ertiga Tour M i based on the mid-level VXi variant in terms of equipment and features. The brand already has the sedan car Dzire Tour S in the market positioned for commercial use and the car is based on the entry level model of the Maruti Suzuki Dzire.

The Ertiga Tour M is expected to feature the same equipment as the Ertiga VXi which comes with manual air-conditioning, air-cooled twin cup holders, power windows on all four doors, electrically adjustable ORVMs with electric folding function, day and night adjustable IRVM, tilt adjustable power steering, remote keyless entry, etc.

The infotainment system has electrostatic control buttons and comes with USB, AUX and bluetooth connectivity. The car is fitted with 4 speakers and comes with steering mounted audio and calling control buttons. The model also features first and second row 12V power outlets and a dual tone dashboard.

In terms of safety, the MPV comes with dual airbags, ABS with EBD and brake assist, seat belt reminder with pre-tensioners and force limiters, speed sensitive auto door locks, over speed alert system, central locking, reverse parking sensors and ISOFIX child seat anchorage system.

The Ertiga Tour M is expected to be powered by the K15 Smart Hybrid, 1.5-litre petrol engine that produces 105 PS of power and 138 Nm of torque mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. It is expected that Maruti Suzuki will offer the Tour M model with the option of a CNG kit preinstalled from the factory. The engine is BSIV compliant as of now and is expected to be upgraded soon.

The car is expected to be priced around INR 8.5 lakhs ex-showroom. The current VXi smart hybrid Maruti Suzuki Ertiga for private use is priced at INR 8.16 lakh ex-showroom, Delhi.
