Maruti Suzuki has launched the BS6 compliant Ertiga S-CNG model at a price of INR 8.95 lakh ex-showroom, Delhi. The Ertiga CNG is the second BS6 compliant CNG model from the brand, after the Maruti Suzuki Alto. Except for the BS6 compliant upgrade, the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga remains largely unchanged.
The BS6 compliant Ertiga CNG is exclusively available in the VXI trim variant and on its exterior features a chrome grille, projector halogen headlamps, electrically foldable and adjustable turn indicator integrated body-coloured outside rearview mirrors (ORVMs), body-coloured door handles, 3D LED taillamps and 15-inch wheels with full wheel caps.
On the inside, the Ertiga VXI CNG features dual-tone interiors, an audio system with electrostatic buttons, Bluetooth, USB and Aux connectivity, steering mounted audio and calling controls. Slide and recline feature on the second-row seats with armrests, analogue tachometer and speedometer with a TFT multi-information colour display, manual AC, air-cooled cup holder, second row adjustable AC, remote keyless entry and more.
In the engine department, the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga CNG comes with a BS6 compliant 1,462cc K15B petrol engine that produces 104.6 PS power and 138 Nm of torque in petrol mode and 89.7 PS of power and 122 Nm of torque with CNG fuel. The car comes with a 60-litre water equivalent CNG fuel tank and returns a claimed fuel economy of 26.08 km/kg. The drivetrain on the Ertiga is a front-wheel driven 5-speed manual transmission. The BS6 standard factory fitted S-CNG vehicles are equipped with interdependent dual Electronic Control Units (ECUs) and an intelligent injection system.
In terms of its exterior dimension, the Ertiga CNG is 4395 mm in length, 1735 mm in width, 1690 mm in height and comes with a wheelbase of 2740 mm. The Ertiga CNG can seat 7 people.
In terms of safety, the Ertiga CNG comes with dual airbags, ABS with EBD and brake assist, front seat belts with pre-tensioners and force limiters, seatbelt reminder, rear parking sensors, speed sensitive auto door locks, over speed alarm system etc.
