We might not really think about this one here, but the Maruti Suzuki Eeco is doing decent numbers where it matters. The brand has just revealed that the Eeco has crossed the 5 lakh sales milestone. Both in personal car as well as commercial applications, the Eeco is now a known product.
Maruti Suzuki first launched the Eeco in 2010. This car is similar to the old Versa. With sliding doors, the Eeco offers very easy ingress & egress. Also, the tall design of the car along with a roomy cabin allows for fantastic luggage carrying capacity. Of course, you can accommodate passengers easily as well. One can buy the Eeco in 5-seater or 7-seater options.
Powering the Eeco is a 1.2L petrol motor which produces 54 kW of power and 101 Nm of torque. Maruti Suzuki sells the Eeco in petrol only or petrol + CNG engine options. While the petrol variant delivers 16.2 kmpl mileage, on CNG, this car runs 21.8 km/kg.
CNG variants account for 17% of total sales for the Eeco in India.
