Maruti Suzuki Dzire No.1 compact-sedan for over 10 years

Maruti Suzuki has announced today that the brand’s most popular sedan car – ‘Dzire’ continues to maintain the number one position as India’s best-selling compact-sedan for more than a decade. The sedan car has a market share of 55% in its segment. Maruti Suzuki has sold over 19 lakh units till date. The brand sold 2.5 lakh units in the year 2018-19, making the average monthly sales of 21,000 units.

The car features chrome accents on front grille, LED daytime running lamps, side turn indicators on ORVMs, precision two-tone alloy wheels, rear combination LED lamp, SmartPlay infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, steering mounted controls, automatic climate control AC, rear air-conditioning vents, leather-wrapped steering wheel, burlwood accents on the dashboard, power windows, remote keyless entry, electrically adjustable ORVMs, push button start/stop, front and rear accessory socket and more.

The car comes in two fuel options, the specifications of which are as follows:-

Petrol

1,197cc, 4-cylinder petrol which produces 83 PS of power and 113 Nm of torque coupled to a 5-speed manual gearbox and an optional 5-speed automated manual transmission (AMT).

Diesel

1,248cc, 4-cylinder diesel engine that produces 74.7 PS of power and 190 Nm of torque mated to a 5-speed manual and an optional 5-speed AMT

The diesel variant of the Maruti Suzuki Dzire delivers a fuel economy of 28.4 kmpl which is considered the best in the industry for passenger cars. The petrol, on the other hand, delivers fuel efficiency of 22.0 kmpl.

On the exterior the sedan measures in at 3995mm in length, 1735mm in width, 1515mm in height with a wheelbase of 2450mm. The car gets a 378-litre boot space a 37-litre fuel tank and the car can seat 5 people.

In terms of safety, the features the fifth generation HEARTECT platform which complies with frontal offset, side impact, and pedestrian safety regulations. The car comes with dual airbags, three-point seatbelt with pre-tensioner and load limiter, ABS, EBD with brake assist and ISOFIX child seat restraint system.

The Maruti Suzuki Dzire is priced at INR 5.69 lakh ex-showroom, Delhi for the entry-level petrol variant and INR 6.67 lakh ex-showroom, Delhi for the entry-level diesel model.
