Thus Maruti Suzuki has enhanced its efforts to reduce its carbon footprint in its business operations.

The Push For Railways-Based Transporation

The strategy to increase the use of rail mode in outbound logistics has resulted in dispatching a record 3.2 lakh vehicles using railways for the given calendar year. This has resulted in offsetting close to 1,800 metric tonnes of CO2 emissions. In addition, Maruti Suzuki has also been able to save over 50 million litres of fuel during the given year.

This contributes to enhancing the energy security of the country. Maruti Suzuki also thanked Indian Railways for its continued support in the endeavour to scale up vehicle dispatches using railways. Going forward, the company further aims to increase these numbers. For this, they have laid down the plan to set up dedicated railway sidings at its facilities in Haryana (Manesar) and Gujarat.

Maruti Suzuki’s Automobile Freight Train Operator License
