Maruti Suzuki has launched the Celerio in the BS6 S-CNG avatar at the starting price of INR 560,900 ex-showroom, Delhi. The new BS6 compliant Celerio S-CNG is offered in two trim variant trims VXI and VXI (O). The brand has also launched the commercial variant Celerio ‘Tour H2 BS6 CNG’ for a fleet taxi at the price of INR 536,800 ex-showroom, Delhi.
Maruti Suzuki at the 15th edition of the Auto Expo 2020 announced the brand’s CNG and Hybrid line-up under the brand’s ‘Mission Green Million’ theme which promotes the brand’s efforts towards a greener and eco-friendly technology. The new S-CNG vehicles are also aligned with the Govt. of India’s vision of enhancing the share of natural gas in the energy basket of the country to 15% by the year 2030 from the current 6.2%. The Government of India is also increasing CNG connectivity and has installed 477 CNG stations on average in the last year showing of 56% growth, as compared to the 156 stations average in the last 5 years.
The Maruti Suzuki Celerio S-CNG is powered by a BS6 compliant K10B series 998cc three-cylinder liquid-cooled 12-valve aluminium type engine that produces 68 PS of power and 90 Nm of torque matched to a 5-speed manual transmission and an optional AMT unit.
In terms of styling, the Maruti Suzuki Celerio hatchback features a black meshed grille that extends up to the halogen headlight units, a wide lower air dam, rounded wheel arches, character lines on the shoulders and lower parts of the doors, combination tail lamps etc.
The Maruti Suzuki Celerio S-CNG is the seventh car in the brand’s CNG-powered car portfolio including Alto, WagonR, Eeco, Tour S, Ertiga and Super Carry.
All the Maruti Suzuki S-CNG vehicles are factory fitted kits and feature dual interdependent ECUs (Electronic Control Units) and intelligent injection systems and are specially tuned and calibrated to deliver optimum performance and driveability.
