Maruti Suzuki Celerio CNG launched in india with 35.60 mileage

One of India’s best-selling automotive manufacturers, Maruti Suzuki, has announced the launch of the CNG version of the Celerio. The brand has equipped the Celerio with its all-new S-CNG technology that offers 35.6 km/kg of fuel efficiency. With a new CNG tank capacity of 60-litres (water filling capacity), the Celerio S-CNG offers optimum performance, enhanced safety, and unmatched convenience. The brand will offer the CNG option in the VXi variant of the Celerio that costs INR 6,58,000 (ex-showroom).

2022 Maruti Suzuki S-CNG: Design Details

Maruti Suzuki launched the new Celerio in November 2021 with an updated design language which includes a new front grille. Along with new sweptback headlamps, the budget hatchback also sports restyled front and rear bumpers with redesigned taillights. Maruti Suzuki has ensured to equip the new Celerio with a 3D organic sculpted design for the radiator grille. Additionally, the new hatchback sports unique chrome accents, 15-inch alloy wheels, electric ORVMs, and 4 colour options.

Reasons behind the CNG version’s launch and Technical Specs 

Maruti Suzuki states that it has the largest portfolio of CNG cars in India, with a total of 8 vehicles. It has also managed to successfully sell around 9,50,000 S-CNG vehicles thanks to standard warranty benefits. Thanks to its reliable service network spread across the country, Maruti Suzuki has witnessed a 22% increase in CNG sales. With the launch of its S-CNG vehicle range, Maruti Suzuki aims to fulfil the Government’s vision of reducing oil imports.

Maruti Suzuki also aims to increase the share of natural gas in India from 6.2% to 15% by 2030. The automaker has equipped its S-CNG vehicles with dual interdependent ECUs and an intelligent injection system that offers optimum performance. To enhance the driveability of its S-CNG products across all terrains, the brand has specially tuned and calibrated its vehicles.

Since its launch in 2021, Maruti Suzuki has managed to sell 6,00,000 units of the all-new Celerio. Powering the new Celerio S-CNG is the next-gen, Dual Jet, Dual-VVT, K-Series 1.0-litre engine with a dedicated CNG mode. The engine develops 56 PS and 82.1 Nm in CNG mode and 64 PS and 89 PS in Gasoline mode.
