Maruti Suzuki has launched the much awaited Ciaz sedan in India at prices starting from Rs. 6.99 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
Waiting period for the Ciaz has already reached 4 months with over 10,000 pre-launch bookings.
Petrol variant price list:
- V: Rs. 6.99 lakh
- V+: Rs. 7.55 lakh
- Z: Rs. 8.24 lakh
- Z (O): Rs. 8.59 lakh
- V+ (AT): Rs. 8.65 lakh
- Z (AT): Rs. 9.34 lakh
Diesel variant price list:
- V: Rs. 8.04 lakh
- V+: Rs. 8.63 lakh
- Z: Rs. 9.45 lakh
- Z (O): Rs. 9.80 lakh
The Ciaz will be powered by two engine options. A 1.4L petrol motor producing 91 BHP of power and a 1.3L Fiat-sourced diesel motor producing 89 BHP of power. Petrol engine’s claimed fuel efficiency certified by ARAI is 20.73 kmpl while the diesel engine claims 26.25 kmpl.
The Ciaz will now fight against the Hyundai Verna, Honda City, Ford Fiesta etc., which the SX4 failed to with poor performance during it’s entire life cycle. Maruti has big expectations from the Ciaz and expects to sell 60,000-80,000 units in 2015. Total investment for the Ciaz accounts for Rs. 620 crore.
