Maruti Suzuki has achieved the milestone of producing two million vehicles in a single calendar year.
Maruti Suzuki achieved production milestone of 2 million units:
This is the first time in Maruti Suzuki’s history that the company has achieved this production milestone of two million units. No other Indian automaker has been able to accomplish this. Maruti Suzuki has also become the first among the Suzuki Motor Corporation’s global automobile manufacturing facilities to achieve this goal.
The manufacturer claims that an Ertiga was the two millionth car to leave the company’s state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Manesar. Gujarat and Haryana is the places where 60% and 40% of the 2 million automobiles are produced. The top 5 cars produced in the calendar year 2024 included models like the Brezza, Ertiga, Fronx, Baleno, and WagonR. Maruti Suzuki has three manufacturing facilities in India currently. With these facilities, it can produce 2.35 million cars annually, and it intends to increase production to 4 million cars eventually.
To meet the growing demand, a new facility is being constructed. By 2025, the new Kharkhoda unit should be up and running. The plant is expected to have a yearly capacity of one million units once it is fully operating. There are plans to build another factory as well with a production capacity of one million units.
All new e-Vitara launch:
Maruti Suzuki is all set to unveil its all-new electric SUV, e-Vitara; at the Bharat Mobility Expo, which will be held in January 2025. The car will be equipped with a 60 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. With this battery pack, it should have a range of more than 500 kilometres. Further, the corporation has claimed that they plan to introduce six EVs by the Financial year 2030-31.
