Mahindra XUV700 will get largest in segment sunroof

Written by Nizam Shaikh

Mahindra is gearing up to launch the new XUV700 in the Indian market. The brand has begun teasing the SUV showcasing its features one by one. Mahindra revealed that the upcoming XUV700 would come with the “Largest-In-Segment” sunroof in the latest teaser. The brand also confirms that the sunroof is called ‘Skyroof.’

Sunroof Almost the Size of a Car

Indian car buyers love sunroofs, a feature that most will not use but want to have in their vehicle. Mahindra is offering just what the audience likes. The brand also mentions the size of the sunroof, which measure 1360mm x 870mm. To put things into perspective, one of the smallest road-legal cars in the world, the Peel 50, measures 1370mm in length and 991mm in width. Mahindra also boasts that the “sunroof is so large, you might think you are in a convertible”.

Auto Booster Headlamps

Recently, Mahindra also revealed another feature of the XUV700. Mahindra calls it Auto Booster headlamps. The new feature automatically turns on an extra set of lamps when the SUV goes past 80 kmph. These extra set of light beams offer more visibility to the driver at a higher rate of speed. The Auto Booster headlamps will be pretty helpful, especially on Indian roads, sometimes littered with potholes and obstacles unknown to the driver.

Mahindra XUV700 Features

Mahindra is likely to add a plethora of segment-first features in the XUV700. The SUV will use the new W601 platform and comes with active and passive safety features such as multiple airbags and an advanced electronic intervention system. But test mules in the past also revealed that Mahindra could offer Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) on the Mahindra XUV700. These systems will include Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Assist, Driver Fatigue Warning, Parking Assist, Auto Headlamps, Rain Sensing Wipers, Forward Collision Warning & Mitigation through Autonomous Emergency Braking and Blind Spot Detection.
