Mahindra has delisted the 5-seater variants of the XUV700 from its official website. The discontinuation has resulted in the availability of only 6-seater and 7-seater variants now for the SUV. Read more below.

Mahindra XUV700 5-seater variants discontinued

While the Pune-based carmaker has not officially confirmed it, the discontinuation of the 5-seater variants has been done silently through the official website.

The removal of the 5-seater variants from the MX, AX5, and AX5 S trims has now led to he availability of 7-seats as standard for the base model. For the top-spec models, including the AX7 and AX7 L, the SUV has an option for 6 seats as well.

Mahindra XUV700

With the silent delisting of the 5-seater model, the XUV700 range is now priced from Rs 14.49 lakh for the MX Petrol MT variant. The price range was earlier positioned from Rs 13.99 lakh for the MX Petrol MT 5-seater variant.

The axing of the 5-seater model has led to the removal of a total of 15 variants from the XUV700 range. The flagship ICE SUV from the brand is still available in 43 variants, which include a mix of petrol, diesel, manual, automatic, and multiple seat configurations.

Mahindra is also working on the XUV700 facelift model, which is confirmed to launch next year. It will feature the latest design and features from the BE series electric SUV models.

Our verdict

The new XUV700 update has certainly increased the pricing for the SUV range. However, we assume that the 5-seater variants were witnessing low sales, which ultimately led to their discontinuation.
