The XUV400 EV received 30.38 out of 32 points for adult occupant protection and 43 out of 49 points for child occupant protection. The Bharat NCAP crash test evaluated the EC L and EL LH (O) variants of the XUV400 EV, both of which performed exceptionally well.
Safety Features
The XUV400 EV is equipped with a range of advanced safety features, including six airbags, ISOFIX child seat anchors, all-four disc brakes, and a reverse camera with adaptive guidelines. Additionally, it comes with Electronic Stability Control (ESC), seatbelt reminders, and pre-tensioners with load limiters. These features contribute to the vehicle’s high safety rating and ensure a secure driving experience for occupants.
Market Impact
This 5-star rating positions the XUV400 EV as one of the safest electric SUVs in its segment, enhancing Mahindra’s reputation for producing reliable and secure vehicles. The XUV400 EV is designed to cater to both urban and off-road driving, making it a versatile choice for adventure enthusiasts and daily commuters alike.
Specifications
Under the hood, the XUV400 EV comes with a 39.4 kWh battery and a 100 kW electric motor, producing 147.51 bhp and 310 Nm of torque. It offers a range of 456 km on a full charge and a charging time of 6 hours 30 minutes with a 7.2 kW AC fast charger. This is currently the only EV in Mahindra’s portfolio. It comes in two variants and competes with the Tata Nexon EV and the MG ZS EV.
