Mahindra has released important news for the XUV400. Mahindra & Mahindra’s (M&M) first electric SUV, has clinched a very significant environmental milestone. The company claims that the all-new e-SUV’s manufacturing takes place in a 100 per cent water-positive facility in Nashik, Maharashtra. This happened using only renewable energy.
And thus the energy saved in the manufacturing of these vehicles can send energy to more than 1000 homes for a year. This is as good as planting 1 lakh trees. This water-positive manufacturing saves more than 20,000 kilolitres of water thus providing water for 100 homes in a year.
Manufacturing In An Environment-Friendly Manner
Mahindra’s move of manufacturing an environment-friendly vehicle speaks volumes of its dedication. This move also speaks of the company’s climate action journey. With a more holistic approach, the aim is to manufacture electric vehicles in the most sustainable manner possible. The XUV400 is getting good traction in terms of sales. The SUV is already the fastest-booked electric SUV in India. It received over 15,000 bookings in just 3 days. Mahindra also claims that by 2027, between 20 to 30 per cent of its passenger vehicles will run on electricity. With the current trend, EVs will sell in good numbers in the upcoming time.
Mahindra Making Huge Moves In The EV Space
With the massive demand for electric vehicles coming in. A host of car makers have decided to fully go electric. This is not a surprising move given the current market situation where customers are more than willing to opt for an EV. Mahindra too has launched its EV-specific brand. As of now, Mahindra has revealed five of its much-anticipated upcoming electric SUVs. The five born EVs will be the brand’s new INGLO EV skateboard platform. All of these will retail via two new sub-brands – XUV.e and BE.
