Key highlights
- Mahindra XEV 7e test mule spotted with AWD setup and triple-screen dashboard.
- Based on INGLO platform, expected to offer up to 600 km range and ultra-fast charging.
- Launch likely by late 2025, positioned between BE 6 and XEV 9e in Mahindra’s EV lineup.
Mahindra’s electric SUV offensive is picking up pace. The upcoming XEV 7e, essentially the electric sibling of the XUV700, has been spotted testing again. This time with more production-ready details. The SUV is built on Mahindra’s INGLO platform, which also underpins the BE 6 and XEV 9e, and will likely debut by the end of 2025.
The test mule reveals a familiar silhouette but with EV-specific design tweaks. Expect a closed grille, connected LED DRLs, and triangular headlamp clusters inspired by the XEV 9e3. Flush door handles and aero-style alloy wheels round off the futuristic look.
AWD powertrain and battery options
Mahindra isn’t pulling punches. The top-spec XEV 7e is expected to feature a dual-motor AWD setup, delivering around 310–325 bhp and torque distribution managed electronically.
Battery options will likely include:
- 60–65 kWh pack for standard variants
- 80+ kWh pack for AWD variant
- Claimed range: up to 600 km (ARAI-certified)
- Charging: 10–80% in under 30 minutes with 175 kW DC fast charger
This puts it squarely in competition with the Tata Harrier.ev, which launched earlier this year with similar specs and pricing.
Interior and features
Inside, the XEV 7e will flaunt a triple-screen dashboard, similar to the XEV 9e. Expect:
- Digital driver display, infotainment screen, and passenger screen
- 5G connectivity, voice commands, and vehicle-to-load (V2L) support
- ADAS Level 2, 360-degree camera, and ambient lighting
- Captain seats, panoramic sunroof, and premium upholstery
The cabin will be a mix of XUV700 familiarity and XEV 9e-inspired tech, with a clean, EV-first layout.
Pricing and positioning
Mahindra is expected to price the XEV 7e between INR 21–INR 30 lakh, depending on variant and battery configuration2. It will sit below the XEV 9e and above the BE 6, targeting buyers who want performance, practicality, and premium features without going full luxury.
