- Features boxy design, off-road tyres, and chunky bumpers, hinting at serious electric adventure intent.
Mahindra has dropped the first teaser of its upcoming Vision.T concept, setting the stage for a major reveal at its Freedom_NU event on August 15. While the teaser doesn’t give away much, it’s enough to stir excitement among off-road and EV enthusiasts alike.
The Vision.T appears to be a more production-ready evolution of the Thar.e concept, which was first showcased in 2023. The teaser video reveals a boxy silhouette, clamshell bonnet, chunky front bumper, and knobby all-terrain tyres—all pointing toward a rugged electric SUV with serious trail cred.
Design: Familiar yet fresh
From the top-down teaser shots, the Vision.T retains several design cues from the Thar.e, including:
- Squared-off proportions and muscular wheel arches
- Minimal bonnet creases for a cleaner look
- Large off-road tyres with block tread pattern
- Cladded fenders and a high ground clearance stance
While the Thar.e leaned heavily into concept territory, the Vision.T seems to bridge the gap between concept and production, possibly previewing Mahindra’s first electric off-roader.
Platform and powertrain expectations
The Vision.T is expected to ride on a modified version of Mahindra’s INGLO platform, which also underpins the upcoming BE and XUV.e series.
If it follows the Thar.e’s blueprint, we can expect:
- Dual-motor AWD setup
- Battery pack options ranging from 60–80 kWh
- Range of 400–500 km (estimated)
- Advanced ADAS and connected tech
Mahindra has not confirmed specs yet, but more details are expected closer to the August 15 reveal.
Freedom_NU Event: What else to expect?
The Vision.T will be one of several vehicles showcased at Mahindra’s Freedom_NU event in Mumbai. The lineup is expected to include:
- Multiple concept EVs and ICE SUVs
- A new vehicle architecture
- Possibly a production-ready version of the BE.05 or XUV.e9
This event continues Mahindra’s tradition of using Independence Day as a launchpad for future-facing products.
