Mahindra teases upcoming electric cars again

Written by Nizam Shaikh

Mahindra recently announced that the brand is working on three new electric vehicles through teasers of EV concepts. The brand has again released another teaser video through its official “Born Electric” website as well as the micro-blogging site Twitter. This leads us to believe that the new Mahindra Born Electric range is likely to arrive soon in the Indian and international markets.

What is Born Electric?

Born Electric is Mahindra’s dedicated electric vehicle programme which will underpin future electric vehicles. The brand will be bringing three electric vehicle types across segments. The Born Electric cars will be developed through M.A.D.E Mahindra Advanced Design Europe, and the brand will be fully revealing the cars in full in July 2022.

Mahindra’s Three New Electric Vehicles

While the first teaser video was dubbed Born Electric Vision, the new video released on 2nd March comes with the added tagline of Born Emotional. The teaser video not only recaps the new C-shaped headlights and taillights of the upcoming cars but also reveals their rooflines. In the video, three distinct rooflines are shown, along with three distinct tailgates. This leads us to believe that the Born Electric vehicles will come in Large SUV, mid-size SUV and Coupe SUV body styles.

Where will Mahindra Design the new Electric SUVs?

Mahindra will be designing the new SUVs from Mahindra Advanced Design Europe. The company is dedicated to bringing Mahindra’s 75 years of heritage through unique customer-centric products. The brand is not only dedicated to SUVs but also to the farm equipment vertical and two-wheeler department. M.A.D.E employs the brightest minds from Coventry University, Royal College of Art, as well as other design colleges in the United Kingdom and Europe. M.A.D.E also has advanced capabilities in the field of CMF (Colour, Material and Finish). The company also claims to fulfil its commitment towards bringing authentic SUVs into the brand portfolio.
