Mahindra set to open design centre in UK

Mahindra Group has set up a new design centre in the United Kingdom, dubbed Mahindra Advanced Design Europe (M.A.D.E). The new design centre is located in the West Midlands and will become operational from 1st July 2021.

The new design centre will become part of Mahindra’s Global Design Network which includes Mahindra Design Studio in Mumbai, India, and Pininfarina Design in Turin, Italy. The brand reveals that M.A.D.E will enhance Mahindra’s global design capabilities. It will also fulfil the brand’s commitment towards bringing authentic SUVs into the brand portfolio.

M.A.D.E will contribute to bringing forward Mahindra’s 75 years of heritage through unique customer-centric products. It will also sharpen the brand’s product designs further. The design centre will also work towards new technologies that help in the development of safe, thrilling and efficient cars. The design centre will also strengthen the brand’s design capability across segments. M.A.D.E not just help develop the passenger car segment but also the farm equipment vertical and two-wheeler department.

Setup in the Coventry region renowned for its association with the Automotive world, M.A.D.E will leverage skills and expertise from the network of design talent. M.A.D.E will also play its role as a contributor in the field. M.A.D.E will also create highly skilled design roles from the Coventry University, Royal College of Art, as well as other design colleges in the United Kingdom and Europe. The design centre will also house advanced capabilities such as CMF (Colour, Material and Finish) department that will help attract the right talent.

Currently, Mahindra is working on the new Project W601, which will arrive in the Indian market dubbed as XUV700. Project W601 was conceived at the Mahindra Research Valley (MRV) Chennai and is likely to feature advanced technologies and best in class features. The SUV has been spied in camouflaged pictures but the brand will soon be unveiling the XUV700 in flesh.
