Mahindra’s much-awaited SUV, the new generation Scorpio-N has created a buzz in the market. The good news, Mahindra has confirmed that the production of the SUV will start in June. Meanwhile, the launch will happen on June 27, 2022. The current generation Scorpio was a runaway success for Mahindra. Hence, the company has decided to sell both generations together. The current generation will now get the nameplate of Scorpio Classic.
Recent Updates Of Scorpio N
Just a few days back, a video surfaced on social media that shows the interiors of the Scorpio N. In the footage, we see the 8-inch infotainment system, the same as we see in the XUV700. As per sources, even the lower trims will benefit from this 8-inch infotainment system. The speaker setup will most likely use a 4-unit configuration. Mahindra is investing heavily in giving all the latest features to the SUV.
As per the latest reports, Scorpio will get the 4-wheel drive system from the Thar. Moreover, for the first time, select petrol engine variants of the SUV will get this system. Sunroof, one of India’s most in-demand features, is also on offer in the Scorpio N. Although we have no confirmation if it’s a full panoramic or a single-pane unit. Interestingly, there are also talks of a 360-degree camera system being offered as well.
In terms of engine options, Mahindra might provide two options, one each for petrol and diesel fuel type. Hence we could see Mahindra continue with the 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol and 2.2-litre diesel engines, both available with 6-speed manual and automatic transmission options. As of now, Mahindra has not announced the pricing of the Scorpio N. However, just like the Thar and XUV700, we are expecting Mahindra to go aggressive and price it very competitively.
