Mahindra has announced that the popular Scorpio-N SUV has achieved a new 100,000 units roll-out milestone. The Mahindra Scorpio-N made its debut in June 2022 and in just over 1.5 years of its launch the company produced more than 100,000 units of the SUV showcasing it popularity and demand.
Furthermore, Mahindra revealed that in January 2024 the brand sold 43,068 units in the SUV segment. Compared to 2023 in the same year the brand sold 32,915 SUVs. This marks a 31% increase when compared to the same month last year. Overall, the brand’s auto sales for the month of January 2024 stood at 73944 vehicles, which is a growth of 15%.
Mahindra Scorpio-N – Overview
The Mahindra Scorpio-N comes in 6 variants – Z2, Z4, Z6, Z8, Z8L and Z8L 6-seater. The prices for the Scorpio-N starts at INR 13.60 lakh ex-showroom. The price goes up to INR 21.97 lakh ex-showroom for the top-spec model. The Mahindra Scorpio-N comes with two engine options – a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine and a 2.2-litre turbo-diesel engine.
The petrol engine makes 200 Bhp of power and 380 Nm of torque while the diesel model produces 172 Bhp of power and 400 Nm of torque. Mahindra offers a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission on both the engines. The Scorpio-N also comes with a 4xplor terrain management system and all-wheel drive technology.
The terrain modes on the Mahindra Scorpio-N includes – Normal, Snow/Grass/Gravel, Mud/Rut and Sand. The SUV also comes with creature comfort features such as Adrenox, intelligent cockpit technology, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with GPS navigationAlexa-enabled ‘what 3 words’ navigation, 6-way adjustable powered seats, dual-zone fully automatic climate control and wireless charging.
Currently, the brand is gearing up to launch the new Mahindra Thar 5-door in the Indian market. The Mahindra Thar 5-door is likely to come with new interiors as well as subtle exterior features. The features will help differentiate the 5-door model with the 3-door Thar.
