Mahindra Scorpio-N gets level 2 ADAS and new Z8T variant

Mahindra & Mahindra has officially rolled out Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) in its popular SUV, the Scorpio-N, marking a significant leap in safety and tech for the rugged ladder-frame SUV. The ADAS suite is available exclusively on the top-spec Z8L variant, while a new Z8T variant has been introduced to bridge the gap between the Z8 and Z8L trims.

This update comes as Mahindra celebrates three years of the Scorpio-N, with over 2.5 lakh units sold since launch.

ADAS Features: What’s new?

The Scorpio-N Z8L now comes equipped with a comprehensive Level 2 ADAS suite, including:

• Forward Collision Warning
• Automatic Emergency Braking
• Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go
• Smart Pilot Assist
• Lane Departure Warning and Lane Keep Assist
• Traffic Sign Recognition
• High Beam Assist

In addition, Mahindra has introduced segment-first features for its ICE lineup:

• Speed Limit Assist: Alerts the driver to posted speed limits and adjusts cruise control accordingly.
• Front Vehicle Start Alert: Notifies the driver when the vehicle ahead begins to move, using visual, audio, and haptic feedback.

These features complement the Scorpio-N’s 5-star Global NCAP safety rating, reinforcing its position as one of the safest SUVs in its class.

Z8T Variant: Premium without the ADAS

For buyers who want all the bells and whistles minus the ADAS, Mahindra has launched the Z8T variant, priced from ₹20.29 lakh (ex-showroom). Positioned between the Z8 and Z8L, it offers:

• 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels
• 12-speaker Sony audio system
• Front camera and parking sensors
• Ventilated front seats
• 6-way powered driver seat
• Electronic Parking Brake (EPB)
• Auto-dimming IRVM

The Z8T is available with both petrol and diesel engines, in 2WD and 4WD configurations, with manual and automatic transmissions2.
