The Mahindra Mojo launch in inching closer, however the company still continues rigorous testing on its upcoming flagship motorcycle. This time, the Mojo was spotted testing in Ladakh, probably for some high altitude tests.
Mahindra revealed the re-styled Mojo at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo and recently the brand even showcased the bikes to dealers suggesting that the launch in now just around the corner. It was confirmed with us during the test rides of the Mahindra Gusto scooter that the next launch is the Mojo and this should happen in early 2015.
The Mojo will be powered by a 295cc, liquid-cooled, DOHC, 4-stroke, SI engine with a few components sourced from international players. Engine will produce 27 BHP of power @ 8,000 RPM and 25 Nm of torque @ 6,500 RPM. Engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. Inverted front fork, monoshock rear suspension, 110mm front tyre, 150mm rear tyre and a twin-tube steel chassis will perform the ride and handling duty. The bike will get a massive 21 litre fuel tank capacity which will be suitable for long rides.
Features:
- Twin-pot headlamp with LED DRLs above
- Gold-painted upside-down front fork
- Rear monoshock
- LED tail lamp
- Digital + analogoue instrument cluster
- Single piece, conventional handlebar
- Long step-up seat (not split)
- Dual exhaust pipes, one on either side
- Front and rear disc brakes
We expect Mahindra to price the Mojo very aggressively to attract maximum customer to their showrooms and make the brand presence felt. The launch has been delayed by a couple of years, however, the interest levels for the Mahindra Mojo are still on the higher side.
