Mahindra has today officially launched the XUV300 compact-SUV in India. Yes, the XUV300 is based on the SsangYong Tivoli which is sold globally, but has been completely reworked for the Indian market. And also, the engines used in the XUV300 are completely owned & developed by Mahindra.
The Mahindra XUV300 has been priced at INR 7.90 lakh onwards (ex-showroom). The XUV300 is a fully-loaded product from Mahindra, possibly their best effort yet.

Powering the XUV300 is a 1.2L turbocharged petrol engine producing 110 BHP of power @ 5000 RPM and 200 Nm of torque between 2000-3500 RPM matched to a 6-speed manual gearbox.
The XUV300 diesel gets a 1.5L turbocharged block producing 115 BHP of power @ 3750 RPM and 300 Nm of torque @ 1500-2500 RPM matched to a 6-speed manual gearbox.
There is no automatic / AMT gearbox on offer at the moment.
The XUV300 comes with 8 features which none of the competing cars offer. This includes: Best-in-class torque, Smart Steering System, All 4 disc brakes, 7 airbags, heated ORVM, dual zone climate control AC, front parking sensors, seat belt reminder for all passengers.

The Mahindra XUV300 compact-SUV rivals the likes of Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Ford EcoSport and also the Mahindra TUV300.
