Mahindra has officially launched a new customisation kit for their iconic SUV, the Thar. Called the Mahindra Thar Wanderlust customisation kit, this has been priced at INR 13.80 lakh. Do note, that this is just the customisation kit cost, the car price is separate, or you handing over your existing Thar for modification.
Mahindra first showcased the Thar Wanderlust edition at the 2018 Auto Expo in India.
Similar to the Thar Daybreak edition, the Thar Wanderlust has also been made to look more big & butch. LED headlamps, LED tail lamps, fog lamps, marker lamps, hard top roof with swivel opening side windows, bold wheel arches, large wheels, off-road tyres, metal bumpers, new grille & oversize ORVMs. Obviously the Thar Wanderlust has a different suspension setup compared to the stock thar with an optional lift kit. A snorkel is also fit on the car with a jerry can at the back. Inside, you have beige & dark brown interiors with sport seats at the front, rear front-facing seats, leather trim on door panels, touchscreen infotainment, beige roof liner and more visible changes.
Powering the car will be the same 2.5L CRDe diesel engine producing 105 BHP of power and 247 Nm of torque matched to a 5-speed manual gearbox and it comes with a 4×4 setup. But, with the added weight, the Thar Wanderlust will feel much slower than the stock model, obviously.
