Mahindra adds Apple CarPlay to XUV500

Mahindra and Mahindra have updated the XUV500 with new features such as Apple CarPlay while Android Auto connectivity was already on offer. In addition to this, the brand has also upgraded the car with connected features such as Connected Apps, Emergency Call & Ecosense. The Apple CarPlay update will be offered on the top-spec W11 variant of the XUV500. The existing owners of the W11 variant can visit Mahindra authorised workshops to get their infotainment system upgraded with Apple CarPlay.

The phone integration features offer safety for drivers and passengers as it uses a simple interface that is compatible with the cars steering mounted controls and voice-activated features. The handfree interactive feature from CarPlay reduces the risk of distracted driving and enables the driver to focus more on the road. 

Apple CarPlay offers access to calls, music and Apple’s assistant, Siri. The user can connect their iPhone with the car’s infotainment system and the system can bring useful information from the phone to the infotainment systems display and features from the phone can be used using the touchscreen display.

The Mahindra XUV500 is powered by two engine options:-

Diesel

  • 2.2-litre mHawk 155 diesel engine with a 6th generation electronically controlled variable geometry turbocharger (eVGT) that produce 155 HP of power and 360 Nm of torque coupled to a 6-speed synchromesh manual transmission.

Petrol

  • 2.2-litre mHawk turbocharged petrol engine which produces 140 HP of power and 320 Nm of torque coupled to a 6-speed automatic transmission.

Apple CarPlay already features in two other Mahindra vehicles which are the Mahindra Marazzo and the Mahindra XUV300. The XUV500 is priced starting at INR 12.31 lakh to INR 18.52 lakh with the W11 model priced at INR 17,16,319 ex-showroom, Delhi.
