Jeep India is fully ready to take on the Indian market. The carmaker has confirmed the introduction of two new 4×4 vehicles this year. Alongside this, Jeep has confirmed that the much loved Compass Trailhawk will make its comeback. By the end of 2022, Jeep India will offer a total of 4 nameplates, all locally produced or assembled. This speaks volumes of the Jeep brand’s commitment and dedication to the Indian market.
2021 was quite a promising year for Jeep, with lots of positives to take away. The introduction of the all-new Compass helped the sales figure to grow by 130 per cent when compared to 2020. And now, with two more launches for 2022, Jeep India will look to carry forward this momentum and expand its market.
All-New Made-in-India Jeep Grand Cherokee
Grand Cherokee, an iconic nameplate for the Jeep brand, will arrive in India in its new avatar. Jeep India has confirmed a few details of the SUV. Under the hood of the all-new Grand Cherokee will be a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol powertrain. Customers will have only one gearbox option, which is an 8-speed automatic unit.
For the off-road enthusiast, there’s some good news. Jeep will equip the SUV with its much-renowned Quadra-Trac I 4×4 system and Selec-Terrain traction management system. Combining these two can make the SUV very capable of taking on challenging off-road trails. To excite things further, the driver will also get to choose from four different riding modes. These are Auto, Sport, Mud/Sand, and Snow.
Come to the inside, and here also we have lots to talk about. The seats get leather treatment with exclusive features like a co-passenger interactive screen, Head-Up Display (HUD), a power liftgate, ventilated seats and a panoramic sunroof, to name a few. Interestingly India is the only market in the world outside North America where the all-new Grand Cherokee will be locally assembled.
