TVS has just taken the wraps off what was first known as the Graphite scooter concept, and is now making a market debut badged as the NTorq 125. This is a 125cc, premium scooter to rival the likes of Piaggio Vespa, Honda Activa 125 & the likes.
The NTorq 125 scooter has been priced at INR 58,750 (ex-showroom Delhi). TVS is pitching the NTorq as the first connected scooter for the Indian market, of course, because it comes with bluetooth connectivity. With this, what you can do is get navigation assist, caller ID, last parked location assist, & share ride stats on social media.
Powering the TVS NTorq is a 124.79cc, air-cooled, OHC, single-cylinder, 4-stroke petrol motor producing 9.4 PS of power @ 7500 RPM & 10.5 Nm of torque @ 5500 RPM matched to a conventional CVT automatic gearbox. You also have sport & street riding modes for this scooter. The NTorq 125 is based on a all-new underbone rectangular tube type chassis and weighs 116.1 kg (kerb).
The scooter comes with a telescopic front fork and a gas charged hydraulic coil spring shock absorber at the back. For brakes, you have a 130mm rear drum brake and a 220mm front disc brake. The NTorq has a fuel tank capacity of 5.0L.
The highlight of the NTorq is obviously the full digital instrument console which shows you a host of data.
Other features include external fuel filler cap, mobile charging socket, steering lock, high speed alert, engine kill switch, low fuel indicator, parking brake & ‘T’ style tail lamp.
The TVS NTorq 125 measures 1865mm in length, 710mm in width, 1160mm in height and has a wheelbase of 1285mm.
