List of new budget electric cars coming to India in 2025

Nine new EVs are going to be launched in the coming year, 2025. Over the past few years, India has seen a tremendous change in the electric vehicle (EV) market. With Tata and Mahindra leading the way, Hyundai is also anticipated to release its most reasonably priced electric SUVs in 2025. Also, Maruti and Toyota are getting ready to release their first electric vehicles.

2025 EV: Maruti Suzuki e Vitara:

The e Vitara, Maruti Suzuki’s first all-electric vehicle, is about to be released in India. It is anticipated that this vehicle will have a pricing of around INR 22 lakh ex-showroom. Maruti recently revealed the first teaser for its electric SUV, the e Vitara, and confirmed that it will display the production-ready model at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Expo.

Dual screens, a wireless phone charger, a fixed panoramic glass roof, six airbags, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), a 360-degree camera, and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) are just a few of the amenities that Maruti may provide in the e Vitara.

Both 49 kWh and 61 kWh battery packs are included with the global-spec Suzuki e Vitara, which is anticipated to have a stated driving range of about 550 km. It is also anticipated that the Indian-spec model’s specifications will be comparable.

2025 EV: Hyundai Creta EV

In January 2025, the Hyundai Creta will have an all-electric version. It is anticipated that it will have a variety of battery options and a stated range of about 400 kilometres. It is expected to be launched at the price of INR 20 lakh (ex-showroom)

It will have features like dual 10.25-inch screens, dual-zone air conditioning, ventilated front seats, and a wireless phone charger. It will probably also have a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera, and an 8-speaker Bose sound system. Six airbags and level 2 advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) are probably going to be part of its safety net. 

2025 EV: Tata Harrier EV and Safari EV

Tata will introduce two electric vehicles, the Harrier EV and the Safari EV, with an expected price of INR 30 lakh and 32 lakh, respectively. Features like a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, dual-zone air conditioning, ventilated front seats and a 6-way power driver’s seat. It will also have a 4-way powered co-driver seat, a panoramic sunroof (with mood lighting) and a gesture-enabled powered tailgate are anticipated for both the Harrier EV and Safari EV. They will probably have level 2 ADAS, a 360-degree camera, and up to seven airbags in their safety kit.

Tata has not disclosed any information regarding the electric motor and battery pack parameters. However, it is expected that it will have a range of over 500 kilometres. It can also come with an optional dual-motor all-wheel-drive (AWD) system.

2025 EV: Hyundai Venue EV

The Venue is another Hyundai SUV that will get an electric variant. Although there are currently few specifications available, the Hyundai Venue EV is anticipated to have a design that is very similar to that of its ICE predecessor. It will probably have a range of 300–350 kilometres and a variety of battery options. It will have an expected price of INR 12 Lakh ex-showroom.

2025 EV: Kia Carens EV

Kia intends to launch the Carens EV, an all-electric MPV, into the crowded market for electric SUVs. The standard Carens’ dual digital screens with 10.25 inches each for infotainment and instrumentation, wireless phone charging, heated front seats, and sunroof are anticipated to be included in the electric MPV.

The automaker provided no further technical information. However, it is expected that the EV will come with a single-motor layout. Its claimed range will probably be between 400 and 500 miles and a price of INR 20 lakh.

2025 EV: Mahindra XUV400 EV/ XUV 4XO

It is anticipated that this electric SUV will get a complete facelift in 2025, renaming it the XUV 4XO and following the Mahindra XUV 3XO’s design.

New alloy wheels, linked LED tail lights, and updated split LED headlights are just a few of the extensive design improvements that the XUV 4XO will experience. It may have 34.5 kWh and 39.5 kWh battery pack configurations. It is connected to a single electric motor that generates 310 Nm and 150 PS. The larger 39.4 kWh battery has a range of 456 km, while the 34.5 kWh battery has a MIDC estimated range of 375 km.

2025 EV: Mahindra XEV 7e

The all-electric XUV700, which Mahindra just filed for a trademark for, may be known as the XEV 7e. This will be launched at the starting price of INR 20.9 lakh ex-showroom. The XEV 7e will be the SUV variant of the previously released XEV 9e electric SUV coupe. The XEV 7e will resemble the XUV700 in appearance, but the XEV 9e will serve as the model for its fascia.

The cabin of the recently released Mahindra XEV 9e and the XEV 7e appear nearly identical in some leaked interior photos. It has black piano inserts on the centre console and the same dual-tone black and white cabin concept. The dashboard’s triple screen arrangement—likely each measuring 12.3 inches—for the infotainment, passenger, and driver’s displays is its primary feature. It also has a two-spoke steering wheel with the “Infinity” emblem lighted on it.

It is anticipated that it will have the same battery pack options as the XEV 9e, which might result in a driving range of roughly 650 km (MIDC Part I+Part II).

2025 EV: Toyota Urban Cruiser EV

The Urban Cruiser EV, a rebadged Maruti e Vitara electric SUV, was recently introduced by Toyota worldwide.  Features and powertrain have been retained from the donor vehicle. However, the Toyota Urban Cruiser EV has a completely redesigned appearance and a new cabin style. This EV can be launched with an expected price of INR 23 lakh ex-showroom.

Similar to the e Vitara, the Urban Cruiser EV may have features including a 360-degree camera, wireless phone charging, and two integrated screens. Its global-spec vehicle is anticipated to have a stated range of approximately 550 km and includes both 49 kWh and 61 kWh battery packs.
