Limited-Edition Yamaha XSR155 looks good, but won’t come to India

Written by AnantaSaranNayak

Yamaha has launched a limited edition of the XSR155, which got sold out within an hour it went on sale. The neo-retro look is what customers are liking these days, and with this, the motorcycle also brings some additional aesthetic touches. The bike first made its debut at the Thailand Motor Expo and received a very positive response among the onlookers. Yamaha Thailand, in collaboration with Zeus Custom, is responsible for building this motorcycle. A total of only 100 units went on sale. Prices for this motorcycle start at THB 91,500, which converts to INR 2.05 approximately. But, chances are very unlikely that Yamaha will bring in this limited edition motorcycle to our shores.

Design Highlights

From the very first glance, the motorcycle does look quite attractive. Being a cafe racer, the XSR155 gets the typical clip-on handlebar, retro side panel, chopped front and rear fenders, a custom dual-tone seat and more. Furthermore, the motorcycle also gets custom body decals that attenuate the overall outlook of the motorcycle. This limited edition of the XSR155 comes with a matte grey shade mixed with black paint at some locations like the internal and running gears. Another highlight of the motorcycle is a side-on upswept exhaust muffler. The blacked-out engine bay does look quite striking and provides the motorcycle with a very sporty personality. Customers will get a Zeus Custom Badge on the fuel tank denoting the motorcycle’s exclusiveness.

Engine And Powertrain

Powering the motorcycle is a 155cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled VVA (Variable Valve Actuation) motor. This is the engine that also powers the Yamaha R15 and the MT-15. The performance figure of the motor stands at 19 BHP and 14.7 Nm, supported by a 5-speed gearbox via a slipper and assist clutch. Braking power comes from single hydraulic discs at both front and rear supported by a single-channel ABS as standard. The chassis gets the support of conventional telescopic forks at the front and a mono-shock at the rear.
