Lexus has introduced a limited edition variant of the ES hybrid sedan. The ‘Crafter Collection 2023’ is priced from INR 64.64 lakh, ex-showroom and is based on the ES 300h.
What’s new in the Lexus ES Crafted Collection 2023
For starters, this limited edition comes with illuminated scuff plates, a welcome logo and headrest pillows. Meanwhile, owners are offered a choice of leather accessories along with the sedan. Some of these include a tan laptop bag, a backpack, laptop sleeve, a multi-box watch case and an overnight duffel bag.
On the outside, there are subtle changes on the Lexus ES Crafted Collection 2023. These include a black lip spoiler with chrome at the back.
Powertrain details of the Lexus ES 300h
In India, the car is powered by the same petrol hybrid powertrain consisting of a 2.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine along with an electric motor. The engine develops 176 BHP @ 5,700 rpm and a peak torque of 221 Nm @ 3,600-5,200 rpm. The electric motor is rated at 118 BHP and 202 Nm. Transmission duties are handled by a Continuously Variable Transmission (eCVT). This is sufficient to propel the luxury sedan from a standstill to 100 km/h in 8.9 seconds. The top speed is limited to 180 km/h.
Comfort features of the Lexus ES 300h
The Lexus is capable of being driven purely by the electric motor at low speeds. The acoustics feature a 3-layer noise absorbing material, thereby improving both the noise absorption as well as noise insulation. An enhanced rear suspension gets more rigid suspension member braces. These offer a superior steering stability and better driving sensation when undertaking high-speed lane manoeuvres.
The ES 300h has been globally on sale since 1989. It is also the Japanese luxury brand’s most popular offering in India as well as abroad. Back in March 2022, Lexus celebrated five years of Indian operations.
