Leaked! 2024 Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 in production guise

Written by Kanad Kalasur

Spy shots of what appears to be the next generation Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 have leaked online. The bike appears to be in production spec with no camouflage as well.

What’s new in the 2024 Husqvarna Svartpilen 401?

For starters, the bodywork of the bike is new. While the fuel tank area is pretty similar, the side appendages are bigger – they now come out and are stretched to the front of the bike. The tail of the bike is also updated. It appears to be increased to fit in a longer single-piece seat. This could offer higher comfort and practicality. The seat area for the pillion is hence larger than before. There is also a bigger grab rail for the pillion.

In terms of the mechanicals, the Svartpilen 401 borrows from the new KTM 390 Duke. This means, the Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 now gets a new frame, offset monoshock and an updated swingarm. Note that there are adjustment possibilities for the rebound, apart from the usual preload.

Another noteworthy observation is the fitment of the saree guard. This is a very specific requirement to the Indian market and hence the new 2024 Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 could soon be available on our shores. Also, the bike has road-based Metzeler tyres. These are a departure from the current knobby tyres.

Other new features include a straight handlebar as well.

Powertrain of the 2024 Husqvarna Svartpilen 401

The Svartpilen 401 is likely to use the same engine as the Duke 390. However, it could come with a larger displacement for more power. In the Duke 390, the 373cc unit develops 43.5 BHP and 37 Nm of torque.

Launch in India and price

While the outgoing Svartpilen/Vitpilen 401s were not sold here, it looks like the bike maker wants to enter this segment as well. In terms of pricing, we can expect the Husqvarna 401 to carry a hefty price. In comparison to the KTM 390 Duke, owners can expect to pay a slight premium for the Husqvarna.
