Lamborghini has revealed pictures of the Huracan Sterrato ahead of its official debut. The off-road spec car would be showcased to the public on November 30 at the Art Basel in Miami. This is likely to be the last pure-combustion engined car from the Italian carmaker.
What is the Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato?
First showcased as a concept in June 2019, the Sterrato is an off-roader based on the Huracan. It gets higher ground clearance, air intake on the roof and a pair of roof rails. The front bumper also gets a stone guard, while a lightbar has been fitted on the top of the bumper. Compared to the concept, the Huracan Sterrato loses the roof-mounted lightbar.
It gets a satin finish Khakee paint job along with contrast red accents on cladding and brake callipers. The Sterrato also gets chunky black cladding all around, black side skirts and rugged fender flares. In terms of wheels, the car now rides on higher profile tyres mounted on blacked-out rims. Lamborghini has not yet released the images for the interior of the car.
Powertrain of the Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato
While exact specifications have yet to be released, the car is likely to be powered by the same 5.2-litre, naturally aspirated V10 engine from the Huracan Evo. It produces 640 HP and sends power to all the wheels via a 7-speed automatic gearbox.
For the Sterrato, Lamborghini could retain Huracan’s rear-wheel-steering setup and get an updated version of the Lamborghini Dinamica Veicolo Integrata (LDVI), which is nothing but the car’s central computer. This will allow the vehicle to be more effective in low-traction scenarios.
Last of its kind?
The Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato will bring almost seven decades of Lamborghini’s pure combustion engine era to an end. In 2023, the Italian sports car manufacturer will unveil Aventador’s successor, but it will get a hybrid setup. The V12 engine will continue to generate most of the power, but the electric unit will also provide much more usable power in short bursts.
The Huracan replacement will also get electrification.
