Lamborghini Huracan STO is ready to hit the Indian roads. Many might confuse this as the successor to the Huracan Performante, but that is not the case. This is the road-legal variant of the Huracan Super Trofeo Evo race car. STO is the acronym for Super Trofeo Omologata. This Huracan STO is the top-spec Huracan currently in the market and both in terms of mechanicals and price. And, if you are planning to get one, you would have to invest more than INR 4.99 crore (ex-showroom). There are multiple adds packs and options as well to make your supercar more super.
Engine And Mechanicals
The pricing of this supercar pretty much matches the performance that it offers. The Lamborghini Huracan STO gets the same, naturally aspirated 5.2-litre V10 same as the one present in all the other Huracans. The performance output of this power unit stands at 640 HP and 565 Nm. Although, there are two key differences when compared to the Performante. This STO’s torque output stands at 565 Nm, which is lower than Performante’s 600 Nm. Another difference is that the STO has a rear-wheel-drive system, whereas the Performante had the AWD system.
Performance and Figures
Additional driving aids include an updated version of LDVI, the car’s electronic brain, which controls all drive systems, race-spec anti-roll bars, adaptive dampers, and an optional nose lift function, which is a must-have feature for driving on Indian road conditions.
The car weighs 1,399 kg lighter than the AWD Huracan EVO by 83 kgs and 43 kgs lighter than the Performante. Almost three-fourths of the body panels are made of carbon fibre which helps in reducing the weight and at the same time provides high tensile strength as well.
The Lamborghini Huracan STO can sprint from 0 to 100 kmph in under 3.0 seconds with a top speed limited to 310 kmph, quite a fast car indeed. Lamborghini mentioned that the car has a sharper throttle response and a more hoarse engine note, especially at higher revs. The car is neither the best in acceleration nor top speed, but the one thing which this car excels at is its high-speed corner-taking ability.
