Kush Maini from India has hit the F1 circuit for tests with Alpine

Indian Formula 2 racing driver Kush Maini has revealed that he successfully completed his first ever Formula 1 test with BWT Alpine F1 Team. Kush Maini joined the Alpine academy last year and he is also part of the Driver Development Program. Kush also works on simulations and analysing data for the team. Drivers in the Alpine Driver Development program include Jack Doohan and 2022 Formula 2 champion Victor Martins.

Kush Maini and Motorsports

Kush Maini started his motorsport career back in 2011 from karting. In 2016, Kush Maini stood 16th at the Italian F4 Championship Powered by Abarth. In 2017, Kush stood 8th at the Formula 4 ADAC and in 2018, Kush Maini at the BRDC British F3 Championship finished 3rd and 2nd in 2020.

In 2021, Maini not only competed in the F3 Asian Championship Certified by FIA and stood 11th but also competed in the FIA Edurance Trophy, LMP2 Drivers where he took the 30th position and FIA Endurance Trophy, LMP2 Pro/Am Drivers with 18th position. In 2022 Kush Maini took the 14th position at the FIA Formula 3 Championship and the next year he took the 11th position at the Formula 2 Championship.

Alpine Formula 1

Currently, the BWT Alpine F1 has Pierre Gasly and Esteban Ocon on their F1 team. The Alpine team might be relatively new, however, it is Renault’s famous sportscar arm and the rebranding marked the next step in Renault’s F1 revival. The F1 team uses the A524 chassis with a Renault power unit which has led them to 20 pole positions and 15 fastest laps. The F1 team also has 2 world championships under their belt. The BWT Alpine F1 team will be next competing at the Canadian Grand Prix this weekend. The Enstone-based Formula 1 Team is committed to F1 at least till 2025 by agreeing to the latest Concorde Agreement.
