KTM reveals new 890 Duke R

KTM has introduced the top-spec R variant of the KTM 890 Duke in the international market. The new KTM 890 Duke R features several styling and mechanical upgrades over the standard 890 Duke. The 890 Duke R also boasts a more powerful LC8c power unit. The Duke 890 R also comes with a new Atlantic Blue colour theme similar to the KTM RC16 GP racer and the 1290 SUPER DUKE R. The motorcycle also comes with a signature orange frame and alloy wheels.

KTM 890 Duke R – Engine Specifications

Powering the KTM 890 Duke R is an LC8c 889cc parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine. The 8-valve engine produces 121 Hp of power and 99 Nm of torque. The punchy engine has been optimised for race-centric riders. The KTM 890 Duke Rdubbed as the SUPER SCALPEL thanks to its lightning-fast steering geometry. The KTM 890 Duke R features a load-bearing design of its tubular steel chassis and adjustable WP APEX suspension. The 890 Duke R also comes with monoblock Brembo Stylema callipers. The bike gets 320 mm discs on the front with an adjustable Brembo MCS master cylinder. The motorcycle also comes with Michelin Power Cup 2 tyres.

KTM 890 Duke R – Top Features

The new KTM 890 Duke R comes with riding modes – RAIN, STREET, SPORT, and optional TRACK mode. The bike also gets nine levels of adjustable traction control slip, anti-wheelie on/off, and the additional throttle control setting for full rider customisation. The 890 Duke R also comes with Cornering ABS and Cornering MTC (motorcycle traction control). This is supplemented with a 6D lean angle sensor. This detects the side-to-side (roll), forwards and backward (pitch) movements of the bike, as well as the rotation of the bike on its vertical axis (yaw). The motorcycles also come with comprehensive traction control management, thanks to the wheel slip control sensor and a pitch angle control sensor.
