The RC 125 introduced by KTM has been the go-to supersport model in the brand’s portfolio for many years now. The newly announced 2022 Gen-2 version of the RC 125 aims to bring proper sports bike styling, handling, and performance. The new RC 125 gets a massive transformation thanks to all-new components. This includes the chassis, improved ergonomics, class-leading performance, updated electronics, and Grand Prix-inspired styling. The RC 125 offers racetrack DNA for the street courtesy of the brand’s achievements in MotoGP and other competitive racers.

KTM Gen-2 RC 125: Exterior Design and Styling

Drawing inspiration from its RC16 racing counterpart, the RC 125 features a rider-centric layout designed to prioritize maximum rider contact. Thanks to the ergonomic development of the knee area, riders can sit comfortably without any restrictions in movement. KTM offers a new adjustable handlebar for the bike specifically designed for track and street applications. The clip-on handlebars are 15 mm higher allowing for better rider comfort and visibility.

Along with featuring new footboards, footpegs, new rider and pillion seats, the RC 125 also has a re-designed, race-inspired bodywork. KTM is using Computational Flow Dynamics (CFD) for the bodywork. This has led to a new visor and re-designed mirrors to optimise the aerodynamics. Other notable styling elements include a new Halogen headlamp with LED DRLs, a larger 13.7-litre fuel tank, and a new front fender.

KTM Gen-2 RC 125: Technical Specifications

Powering the 2022 RC 125 is a 125cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, four-stroke engine. The engine produces 15 PS of power and 12 Nm of torque. The bike features a larger airbox for improved cooling and power figures. This helps the RC 125 achieve 100 kmph in 14.6 seconds. The bike now features a higher top speed of 120 kmph thanks to a new chassis frame which is 1.5 kg lighter.

The RC 125 features a WP APEX 43mm front suspension with 120mm of travel. Along with this KTM offers a WP APEX mono-shock suspension with 150mm of travel for the rear. For improved stopping power, KTM offers new 320mm brake discs up front with SUPERMOTO ABS and a 230mm brake disc at the rear. The bike’s engine is paired to a 6-speed gearbox featuring a mechanically actuated, wet multi-disc clutch.

KTM Gen-2 RC 125: Features

KTM offers the new RC 125 with a re-designed full-digital LCD dashboard. The instruments cluster provides important rider information, including a gear-shift indicator. The SUPERMOTO ABS mode allows the rider to deactivate the ABS on the rear wheel. This enables the rider to perform slides while entering into a corner. This also provides the rider with full control over the brake pressure while turning. Other notable features include a new tail light with LED indicators.
